Scarlett and the Legionnaire

Something I brew up with a friend while I Rp out the stress in my life as my comic is in hiatus and needing a revamp.

The story starts in Mars the year 2345, A major catastrophe hits the planet ten fold as earth and all of the space colonies in the known sectors bare witness the fall of a civilization sending the once prosperous planet to a rude awakening as their lives decay to the grip of fate as their world fell into chaos and despair.

Mars has experienced a massive earthquake erupted by the once dormant volcano of Olympus Mons sending making cities to piles of rubble and affecting a secret lab that spread a virus waking the dead to rise up and haunt the living. The planet was overrun by the undead for months then it turns to years as sending rescue and aid is useless since the spaceports are not operational making a direct landing on mars a huge risk. Earth and its celestial neighbors have blocked all entries and exits on mars until the threat is controlled but the martian government is in disarray as man turn against each other for the bitter cause for survival and sanctuary from the undead and their crazed selves as chaos gripped the planet into a state of turmoil for 12 years.

In this time of chaos and strife, Scarlett is a 20 year old girl who lost her father to the bloody sickness of Mars as she settles on the once magnificent city of Danykah. She grew up in the rough and despicable environment as she dodges zombies, evade local bandits and rogues that plague the planet. As far as her attitude is concerned, the girl lived through the harsh environment building her body to a state of athleticism and a stone cold persona that helped her survive these harsh times alone after witnessing her father's demise at the hands of Cultists, an occult of fanatical chaos worshiping mongrels who obsess indulging in revelry and barbarism to achieve lives to the fullest.

Scarlett raised herself with a belief that kindness will kill her in these godforsaken red sands of Mars if they are mentally and physically weak which helped her survive. Things were going well until the day a masked soldier with a large marine rifle travels through her turf in search of sanctuary and nourishment. Little did he know he attracted the interests of cultists and bandits alike. Scarlett was having second thoughts about the man as he was found collapsed by the city water fountain and out of pity and left over righteousness within her, Scarlett helps the stranger into her home and heals him from his exhaustion and minor injuries as the man introduces himself as Jackal "Jack" Methoran, a martian Legionnaire, the last of the mercenary elite squad who guarded Martian socialites and royalty who are wiped out by the natural disaster of Mars and the months of the zombie infestation and cultist uprising. Jack was the last one alive and he convinces her that help is arriving and Scarlett shrugged it off as false hopes and dreams that will never come true.

As the conversation moves on, the cultists attack and they came armed to the teeth with hand-made weaponry and blood-pumped aggression as they are determined to rake out Scarlett and Jack for existing. Scarlett put up a fight out but she was overwhelmed as the Legionnaire looks on as their acts of aggression gets to his nerves. Like the whirlwind in the storm, Jack attacks all of the cultists and valiantly aids Scarlett repelling the anarchy obsessed mutants as their squabble attracted an entire horde of zombies and Jack holds her hand and saying "Never say die..." this phrase is alien to the girl's vocabulary as all she wanted was to escape and move on while retaliating Jack has a different approach: KILL THEM ALL TO THE LAST MAN AND TO THE LAST BULLET LIKE A REAL LEGIONNAIRE. These words in the Legionnaire's head became a signal to weed out these barbarians for discord and oppression. The Legionnaire springs into action like a lion enraged and consumed by righteous fury Jack gave those zombies and cultists a living hell as one man was enough like a warrior trained to snuff out fear in his psyche as he charges and out performs these sub-humans and vandals giving them a hell of fight till night fell.

Jack wont that battle sitting on a pile of zombie flesh and Cultist corpses like a highlander proclaiming ownership of freedom ad independence liberating the city from both infestations as he won the heart of the once stone hearten woman who was scarred by the hardships she had to live through her life as she was left breathless watching the once exhausted man eliminating an entire mob with his skills for war and she did not expect having him to protect her as she find it something new and unknown for her to comprehend as she falls for the legionnaire as he falls her secretly.

After the fight, Jack promises her to lead her out of the darkness and into a place where the sun shines its brightest even in the darkest of times. Scarlett and Jack held hands as they walk out of her hideaway and into the sunlit road as they are prepared to take the steps of finding a more suitable landscape away from the nightmare they once called home and into a journey finding a new home called SANCTUARY in the long road of the unknown.
